We have had a lot of visitors into school teaching us how to keep safe. Last week, PC Paul talked to us about e-safety. We were able to tell him about Kidsafe’s ‘tell a trusted adult’. He reminded us to avoid older children who were making the wrong choices too. The theatre group was really good. They acted out a bullying scene between teenagers and through a workshop, showed us how each person involved may have been feeling and why they acted as they did.
The fire service came into our class to teach us about the ‘Triangle of Fire’ oxygen, heat and fuel. We watched a DVD which showed how quickly fire can spread in a room. Now we know that we shouldn’t leave our chargers plugged in during the night just in case they overheat! Some of us don’t have smoke alarms but the fire officer said our parents can just contact Tyne and Wear fire service and they will come out and fit a new one for free!
Year 5 took part in a photo competition this week and won! Jessica, Leanne, Skye, Jessica and Sasha were very pleased with their Easter egg prizes!
